What to expect
When bringing your device in to Megabyte for a repair, the process can be different depending on your type of device and issue. If you are having issues with your device, bring it by anytime, there is no appointment needed. We do not require an appointment to check your device in for diagnosing. If you have a Mac, we will mostly likely need to check it in for a certified Mac Technician to diagnose. The diagnosing process for a Mac can take 24-48 business hours or more. If you have an iPhone or other iOS device, we should be able to diagnose the device for you up front and quote a price and turnaround time. Typically the turnaround time for a Mac is 3-5 business days, and for an iOS device it is 5-7 business days.
Same day iPhone repairs
The only repairs we require appointments for are same day iPhone repairs. This repair is usually a battery replacement or a display replacement, anything else will most likely need to be mailed in to Apple to fix. If you believe your iPhone needs a battery or display replacement, please call our store at (479) 715-6342 to book an appointment. The repair will take up to 2 hours to complete. Please make sure to back up the data on your device before bringing it in, and make sure you know the passcode and Apple ID password to the device. AppleCare Protection Plan
MegaByte Computer Center highly recommends AppleCare® Protection Plan for all Macs. All Apple devices come with one year of hardware support (parts and labor) and 90 days of phone tech support through Apple. AppleCare® Protection Plan provides an additional two years (total of three years) hardware support. It also provides three years of telephone technical support from Apple Support. Data Backup
We cannot stress enough the value of data backups. Apple has provided the Time Machine® back up software as part of the Mac OS since 10.5 Leopard. We carry a full line of Lacie back up drives for use with any Mac desktop or laptop computer. Another alternative to the Time Machine® backup, is through a service called Backblaze.
